I've only drove it like 1000ft since putting the pump in and putting fresh oil in it so it's not blackened all the way I believe. But I never had anything like that before. Before the IP change it was just high clearer oil but now it seems fine. I need to drive it more but I gotta change two tires before I take it for a real drive.

@Thewespaul is there anything else aside from coolant being in the heads thatll cause the motor to do what its doing in my video? It seems like it only does it the first time I crank it after it's sit for at least a few hours or day. I dont think it does when the motors at operating temp. I'll get some tires this week and drive it around and get a definitive answer.

Its a battery connection or a weak starter. I dont hear any knocking in it, and it certainly dosent have cosby in it

Its definitely not a connection or battery issue. I've checked all relative points and connections are tight. Plus the batteries crank my buddies F350 powerstroke no problem everyday

Yeah it starts every time but my concern has been that something is in the heads or the motor that doesn't need to be there like coolant like some other guys have said in this thread and I dont want to ruin the motor.

I appreciate you trying to shine some light but if you were behind the wheel of this truck for a few minutes you'd know there is something serious that needs to be tended to. It acts completely different than before

How long have you run it I know you are skepitical about running it but have you tried pulling the glow plugs and cranking it over then reinstall plugs and cranking see what the difference is mightw blow out what's causing issues

I'm going to bring this back up as your most likely cause. Small head gasket leak probably.

I agree with Macrobb, it could be a very slight head gasket leak, it will only leak when you shut it off and let it sit as radiator pressure is greater than sitting cylinder pressure.

Two suggestions: Google ph test strips for tailpipe testing. If they change color when you start it but not after it runs for a while, you’ll know you have some coolant getting into the cylinder(s).

Lastly: see if you can pull all of the glow plugs, pressurize the coolant system with some 30-40 psi shop air, and see if any coolant shows up when you crank the cold engine with no glow plugs in it.

I hope I’m wrong, but good luck either way. Bringing burned up stuff back to life is always crazy, but can be quite rewarding if you can eradicate all the gremlins.

Thanks for the input. I'm ordering them shortly. I think you may be right. I marked the radiator reservoir to see if the fluid decreases and it did as did under the radiator cap. It didnt go down when I was driving it though. I attached pics of my oil dipstick. I've got less than 15 miles on this oil change so it may not have blackened all the way.

Do you think a cracked head would be obviously different than a bad head gasket? Symptoms wise or would it be close to the same. The truck has been shaking at idle and very badly when traveling 35-45mph. But before or after that it acts normal.

Would the coolant come out just one side if only one gasket is bad? I'm hoping I can identify which is in need of work so I dont get into one and it's the other
