Thank you again to everyone who participated in the preorder sell! I was blown away by the amount of interest in these kits, so Id like to take some time here to showcase some of the interesting details with the various versions, as well as post the new prices now that our sale has ended.
Our most popular of our kits is the manual control conversion kit, retailing at $185 with shipping and handling included, this kit replaces the entire factory glow plug system with a plug and play setup that simplifies and outperforms the problematic factory system. Included in this kit is everything needed to make the conversion, but a pushbutton of your choice (Minimum 5 amp rating) and a set of zd9 glowplugs.
Going from the top left to bottom right, is the first harness which goes from the feed side of the pushbutton to a fuse tap for the underdash fuse panel. I typically use a 15 amp fuse location with an ignition source, two 15 amp fuses are included.
Next is the the pushbutton signal wire, a 10 ft length with the correct ring terminal to trigger the relay, and extra length to reach any location in the cab, just cut to length and crimp your connector on for your pushbutton.
Next is the passenger side glowplugs bank, this starts with a 4mm gf bullet connector that is crimped and heat shrinked to a quality, american made stranded wire, a spare glow plug is installed into the bullet connector while it is heated allowing the insulation to shrink to the diameter of the glowplug while it cools, this makes for a water tight and firm connection that will not shake loose from the glow plugs. Next the braided sheath is slid over each lead and marine heat shrink bonds the ends of the loom to each connector. Each glow plug lead comes together into a 5/16 plated copper ring connector, this uninsulated connector is hydraulically crimped and heat shrinked to make for a tough connection that wont break or easily corrode.
The first on the lower row is a length of DEI's high temp split line loom. This is to be used for any high temp locations along the harness, such as the thermostat area or rear glow plugs near a turbo. Rated for up to 500* this is a key item to making your harness last a long time when exposed to high temps.
The two short wires next to the relay are the ground and feed for the relay, setup with the ring terminals for their applications and marine heat shrinked for a water tight connection to resist corrosion.
The white rodgers relay is a hefty design, specd for up to 500k uses, and up to 600 amp inrush, its overkill for our application, but delivers the high current needed for our glow plug system with ease.
Lastly is the driverside bank glow plug harness, built the same as the passenger side this long stretch goes runs up the side of the cylinder head around the front of the injection pump and across the engine to the relay location.
Not pictured but still included in the kit is your CDD sticker, and installation instructions that layout the simple install step by step.
