I recommend running any pump with a Holley return style regulator. That will ensure that you have the same pressure throughout the rpm curve. I have good luck with the Holley and the 105p, can’t speak for anything else since I don’t have any personal experience with it. I don’t like the regulators that mr gasket sells with the 105p.

Hm. Food for thought.

Once I get the factory turbo installed on my NA 7.3, I'll put a fuel pressure gauge on, and see what my Facet 40285 is really doing! It feels like an 8500 lb (loaded) truck with 185 hp ought to, and the fuel pressure warning light doesn't come on at WOT. But a gauge will tell the whole story.

Hi in the Cascades, Nearly- Redmond,Oregon
I been watching this thread & thinking. I been running Holly Red 12-801-1 & have run Holly Blue 12-801-2 for last 15-16 yrs on my '90 & '92, both without regulators. But I may be shooting myself in the foot in relation to fuel pressure affecting IP timing, etc.

I don't have a factory fuel filter set-up. I have a Fleetguard FS1212 filter with a line coming from the filter head to the return fuel. I've just figured the excess heated fuel would go back to the tank I'm pulling from.

I also run from rear tank & bed tank WVO mix or WMO mix with all kind of plate heater, tank heaters, fuel line heaters, heated filters, etc. I've assumed any excess unregulated fuel would just be returned to the fuel tank, helping heat my fuel, especially my rear tank.

Couple yr ago I stuck this factory '94 IDIT engine into my '90, recently redid turbo (Typ4) & other stuff. All in all this thing runs stout & very responsive, all thru the RPM curve. Recently cked my mpg & about 14 running round DD. (nearly 10K empty) Ahhh for the days I used to get 18-22 mpg.

But my question, am I hurting myself if there is possibly excess fuel pressure? I don't have any fuel pressure gauge on anything. Been reading this thread as well as others & sure got me thinking.

Get a fuel pressure gauge on it first and see what you’re starting with, you’ll need one anyways to set your fuel pressure if you get a reg

Yer link to rover is acting up...

Back to the hunt...

Trying to decide what to do
1, put on stock ford mech. Pump with a check valve in tandem not in series, and leave epump for priming
2, swap in the holley red .
3, swap in the red and add a flow thru reg.
Ho hummmmm

It’s an eBay link, just google mr gasket 105p you’ll get the same results.
