The drive train should be worth that. $750.00 Will probably make you the proud owner. Sell/scrap what you don't want.

Okay, I appreciate the replies. I was adding up the parts, and it seems good. I'm really curious to see if the guy tomorrow, is aware of any history.

Buy it!
I would have if it had been posted last July when I was in Washington and blew the head gaskets on my E350. The engine is worth it so long as the coolant isn't all rusted up.

Okay, so I think it's done bought. It was around 30 degrees, and cold started okay; may just need a stronger battery. The Radius arm is cracked, but it's a hairline; that I should be able to weld back easy enough; that or flex seal it... The brakes are good, there is one rotor that will probably need replaced.

I go pick it up on Thursday, I'll have more information from there. It's got the 4 speed auto, but no tach, I thought it needed the tach to work? It shifts fine, and when it's supposed to.

Close. It needs the pick up to work, The tach itself doesn't have to work or even be there (obviously). I'd be willing to bet that there's a pick up under the hood and it's connected.

Yes'sir, was reading up on it this afternoon. I guess none of the E series had tachs, but an OBS F series instrument cluster, should fit the OBS E with a couple wire alterations from what I've read.

I don't think I'm too worried about having the tach to look at though. It puffed whitish smoke, and not too much under moderate, to heavy acceleration; I'm thinking fuel. Then again though, if the thermostat is out, which I think it is, then perhaps it's not getting the best combustion.

I'll post pics in the OP, and start digging in. It's got some interesting things added to it. It's got a serpentine belt, but then I believe a dual pulley coming of the crank and running a second AC comp with a v-belt. The battery compartment is relocated aft and beneath the drivers seat; they've got a single truck battery there. Then there's the air ride for the rear suspension, it's a beefy looking compressor, seems almost too big.

It's seriously retarded timing, straight up. Get a new IP/injectors, or at least advance the thing as far as you can and it'll help. Usually when I want to keep something this bad going, I'll skip the IP gear one tooth ahead, which adds about 6 degrees of advance to it; that usually gets really close from the 'smoking white under load' point.
Doing this will mess with the timing curves(which are already shot), though, so you may well rotate the light-load advance as needed to get the low end close.
