Well back to the question, what after market coolers have the least recalls/issues. A genuine 6.0 cooler is nearly $700 here in Australia. I've seen a few different brands which look the same on Rock for between $150-$275 Au ? Is the Dorman model any good, it's $275.:dunno
I've seen heaps of "el cheapo" tranny oil coolers on fleabuy too. I won't marry up a cheap cooler to an $8500 rebuilt trans. Back to you people ;)
We're having a lovely heatwave down under, 100F + all week.

I haven't found anything bad about the Dorman part yet.

What ever cooler you use. Be sure to use a stacked plate cooler. Not a tube and fin type cooler.

True Cool by Long is a very good part. They are the Ford coolers without the Ford brackets. They come with universal mounting brackets.

Has anyone used a hydraulic oil cooler in this application. The support frames on them appear fairly heavy duty ?

2001 7.3 SD 4x4 Crew Cab {Stock }. I used a cooler from a 6.0. Yes it was used, cleaned it well and mounted it.
Had to find one reducer fitting, brass 3/8 to 1/4 if I remember right. So much better than the oem setup.
My old factory setup would go into limp mode on hills with my 22' closed trailer and Model A ford car inside.
No problems since.
