My 94 is pulling to the right and the randomly drifts to the left. I have been fighting several problems lately. I had a power steering leak, I have replaced the gear box and the pump. I also had a sticking caliper on the passenger side. The truck randomly pulls to the right and then will drift to the left randomly. I know all of the front bushings are in need of replacement. Is there anything else I could be missing. I have read there could be an issue with the axle shaft universals and maybe the sway bar bushings.

I’ve also had that happen on my dodge with uneven tire wear from improper alignment, front bearings starting to wear out especially if one is worse than the other, and worn out tie rods. When I first got it, it had all those issues and almost 180 degrees of play in the steering! Now it drives great!

Was the drift there before the new box?If not,I find that it may be better to go back over what has already been touched than look further sometimes.

The drift was before the power steering box. My initial thought was the power steering box so I replaced it under warranty and replaced the power steering pump while I was in there.

Your bushings need to get changed, if you have leaf springs it pretty much sounds exactly like worn out hanger bushings. Have someone move the wheel back and forth while you look under the truck. You should be able to see what’s moving and needs replacing

I would look for rust coming out of the u joint caps as a start.Personally,I have bad luck with calipers hanging, seems like I have to replace in pairs.I see where you had one hanging

Just a thought.. we have been fighting a truck at work with steering issues, of all things that was a bad brake hose. it was acting as a check valve.Thewes has you going in the right direction as well.

I have replaced the brakes lines about 7 years ago when I replaced the calipers, rotors and pads. I had thought about replacing the hoses just as a precaution.

It drove our shop mechanic nuts until he found it. He is starting to get a little fed up with all the ABS/brake problems that we have been having.he stated to me that he will be using nothing but factory parts in the brake systems from now on.

In the last year I have replaced the ABS valve on the frame and the master cylinder as well. I have spent hours bleeding the system and even removing the spring in the ABS valve as a test. I have been fighting pedal fade over he past few months.

He found that bad hose with a thermal scan tool/gun. I have never thought to use one that way. Could that brake fade possibly be very hot brake fluid?

I dontt think so on the hot brake fluid it does it even when you start the truck. I can stop the truck you just have to push the pedal almost to the floor. If I adjust the rear brakes anymore the rear wheels get a little grabby.

I just looked up the boiling point on brake fluid. Nearly 450 degrees if no moisture. And you're correct if it's doing it cold.

It's almost a crapshoot here in our area when buying parts. Really all we have left is the box stores.. all of our old fashioned part stores are about gone. Our local Napa is way too high priced.
