It seems to be working just fine without the extra filtering . Got about 80 barrels in the tank. Injection pump doesn't seem to mind, cold starts are the same or slightly better and the motor runs much quieter. At current prices it's about a $1.40 if I sell it. I've been taking off the top of the tank after it sets one week after pumping.

Personally I don't think that is something I would run in mine. In the end run it might cost more then one saves now.

For the average person.. probably not.My IP is set up for multi-fuel. That and I have a garage full of parts for military 6.2s.

@Comptech how did you go about setting ur Ip to run any fuel been trying to research this
My pumps are all built with viton style seals and compatible with wmo/wvo, the older seals that originally came in these pumps are not compatible with a lot of fuels that aren’t pure diesel. These seals are still used today, but are much cheaper than viton.

My truck is a military m1031. They are equipped with a IP that is designed for different viscosity fuels. The military wanted these trucks to be able to run a variety of fuel and also be able to perform in Arctic weather.

@Thewespaul basically if I need my IP rebuilt I can have viton style seals properly set in an be able to run other things besides pure diesel and at what cost are viton seals

It’s just a choice of seal used when rebuilding the injection pump, but if you get a pump rebuilt from me you will be set up with wvo/wmo compatibility.

Thewes, can the non turbo pumps be modified to accept the larger plunger such as used in a 93 6.5 turbo? I think the larger plunger pump was a 4911? I have everything to turbo charge this truck, but these non-turbo pumps must be almost maxed out to get enough fuel.

What’s the full serial code of your pump? 4911 is just a calibration. For example, db2831-5277 would be a two plunger eight cylinder pump with .31” plunger with a 5277 calibration

I will have to dig around in the garage. I'm almost certain I still have it.

@Comptech,

How can one set up the IP for multi-fuel?
Any advice welcome.
Am restoring a '85 M1009 and want to run it on WMO

Thanks,
Jake

Very interesting, are you filtering it at all? Or just letting it settle? If it seems to run good and start okay then your probably okay. I would just make sure its filtered. How thin is it? Similar to diesel or gas or wmo?
Thanks for the info
