Are those 10ply or 4ply the local shitmart/Walmart told me they only sell 4 ply so curious if the store n online market are the same.

Does any ones tire choice make there front tires look flat like it's under a huge load
The toyos I tried a few years ago and the general grabbers I just had installed both do this. When they dropped the front of my truck on the ground and I saw the sidewall, I just thought “not again...”
Had these on my 2wd idi , id always fill my rear tank up before a snow storm here in Massachusetts and that truck NEVER got stuck!!!

Plus one on transforces…

also the falken wildpeak at3w is a really really really nice tire.
I’ve heard good things about that at3w too but I’m kind of a stickler on white lettering and the falkens don’t have that

One thing, my Excursion is always at 80PSI..... if they are less, then they need some wind........

Dad runs them more toward the higher side also...... I've found the tire is happier when it's closer to what the sidewall says vs what the door says.....

Most, if not all, current load range E radials are 8ply.
They are generally marked 10PR. Which is 10 play rated. Equivalent to a 10 ply bias.

You think this has been part of my problem? Maybe I should find a true 10p instead of 10pr tires?

Number of actual plies means very little any more. Kevlar and steel plies are a lot stronger then nylon. One manufacture could have plies twice as thick as another. That is why the move from plies to ply rating, to range, to load index. Also bias and radial do not need the same number of plies.
Where the tires balanced at the psi you driving at?

Only issue I have with tires is the flat look n some places around where I live want over $175 for a lower end tire n I run 235/86/16 is what was on the truck n here is a picture of of the stance after I had it aligned/inner tie rod end fixed, just had the way it looks, can goin to a 245 or lower 75 /16 make it any better

Can't answer that honestly but a little tire tech before you end up trying the wrong size. I find LOTS of people don't have a clue how this works.

The first three numbers are the tread width in milimeters. (235/xx/xx) is 235mm wide.

The second set of numbers is the aspect ratio for the sidewall to width. (235/85/xx) has sidewalls that are 85% the height of the 235mm tread with or approximately 199mm.

The last two numbers are the RIM SIZE so a (235/85/16) is for a 16" RIM.

I wanted to point this out because a 235/85/16 is approximately 32" tall, the SAME HEIGHT as a 265/75/16. While a 235/75/16 is only going to be approximately 30" tall. I'd hate you to get tires that look goofy because the 235 was the same!!

I would ASSUME that a wider tire like a 265/75/16 should look less "flat" but I'm not sure. That would be a function of pressure and volume as well as ply ratings on the tires, but is simply a guess.

Tires were balanced at 60psi, I added 10-15psi to try and stiffen the sidewalls and haven’t had them rebalanced but that wasn’t an issue with the old bfg’s

these are 245/75r16 on my truck. Little shorter, little wider. I like the look

You also need to rember that a wider tire on a narrower rim will make it look like it's got a low tire and give you sidewall flex right rim width and tire width will improve things a lot

Just called;

Bfg-didn’t speak English and wouldn’t help on the warranty because I didn’t keep all 4 tires

General tire-didn’t speak English and had no idea what side wall flex meant and was asking if I drove off road and got a flat

Goodyear-didn’t speak English and didn’t understand load ranges but wanted to ask my driving conditions to make sure I was getting the right tread

Falken-business hours 5am-5pm, it’s almost 8am there, says they’re closed

Why is my life this way? Lol

@austin92

Give them a call:

https://www.rileyparktire.com/

317-462-4421

This is where my last several sets have come from. They should be able to steer you in the right direction. Tell them what you have now, and what’s it’s doing and they should be able to give you some guidance.

I am in no way associated with them, other than being a satisfied customer....
