My buddy has a 1990 bronco hes parting out with a lift kit in it, it coil spring front, I was wondering if anyone had done this? Removing the spring bucks etc and retrofitting it to an f350?

^ that would be my thought. The diesel coils are quite stout.

My thought would be to just use the hard stuff like spring buckets etc and the link setup and buy some coils but at that point might just be better to do the superduty cool spring swap

I wondered the same thing about if f150/bronco lift springs would work to hold a idi up! I have a bronco and my buddy who owns a salvage yard told me he would sell me a full swap for 800$ and use his shop to do the swap in a 6.9 with ats turbo on it. I’m considering it but didn’t know how much suspension work I would need. It’s about to get a superrunner long travel kit and I got brand new summit racing springs to go under it

You can order springs at any weight rating you need, an idi goes into a Bronco easy, two of four engine mounting holes are already there, which makes it simple to drill for the lower ones. Swapping the suspension onto an idi... I think I would just use a newer coil spring superduty axle

Didn't a certain someone that owns a certain IDI shop swap a 7.3 into a bronco?

Iirc, the suspension is stock and took it just fine. Just gonna be a little soft for doing anything truck related.

Typically F-150/Bronco lift springs have a much higher rating than stock springs. Also, they are ~1.5x heavier than needed due to the TTB geometry.

Is the F350 4wd w/D60? If so, using ‘lighter’ TTB coils on it would be about what you need.

I did a coil & radius arm conversion on my truck years ago using Bronco coil towers and radius arms I built to bolt onto the original leaf spring seats on the D60. The axle side radius arm mounts have a bracket and bolt to use TTB lower spring retainers.

I used 05-08 F350 Rancho 2.5” lift springs that ended up having the same basic measurements and calculated specs as some 4” F150 TTB springs I had on hand.

So yeah, basically the F series TTB lift springs will most likely be just fine under an IDI. You’ll just have to fine tune it to get the lift you want.
