@austin92 for the ohms of your gps did you mean 0.3-0.6 instead of 5.3-5.6? My 4 year old beru's I replaced didnt even have 5ohms.
I second looking at your lift pump if it's not new and really going through your fuel lines/connections because you can have air getting in without visible fuel leaking out as far as I'm aware.
Also with temps getting down to 0 or less you should really be plugging in the block heater for an hour or 2 before starting to save yourself alot of hassle.

Do you get lots of white smoke while attempting to start it?
Have you tried an electric fuel pump or a new mechanical? Any sign of fuel leaks before the pump and filter head?

With so many new parts I would be scratching my head tooo_O

Yes, lots of white smoke, facet duralift intstalled. No fuel leaks before the IP

How long do the glow plugs/wait to start light stay on? If you listen, you might hear that the wts light goes off before the glow plug relay actually shuts off. Should start quickly and cleanly at 25 deg.

I was getting 8-10 seconds glow time, listening to the relay, not watching wts light

No, I typed the correct numbers. I read 3-8 ohms is good. Did they mean .3-.8? Still doesn’t make sense, plugs are less than a year old and motorcrafts. Facet lift pump. I have an 83 block so I don’t want to fix the heater, looked at magnetic oil pan heaters but that won’t help me at work where I can’t plug it in.

Thanks for the replies everyone

@austin92 I'd be going back and checking those gps again. Someone can correct me but I'm 99% sure they should be under 1ohm and if they're reading 5+ they aren't heating up. Picture is of my old ones and they're still all reading 0.7-1.1. Anything I've seen and from personal experience new beru's read about 0.3-0.5.

6.9 and 7.3 glow plugs have different ohms specs. I don't remember which one is higher. I do know that I've never seen any that read 5+ ohms. The most I've seen is about 1.3 ohms. If they read 5+ ohms, I'd check in to getting some new ones.

Scooch, you appear to be touching the meter leads with your fingers. Maybe I'm wrong. Try contacting the leads straight to the GP w/o your fingers touching the meter leads. Your body will show Ohm reading also and throw off the GP readings

Just a suggestion.

The one finger definitely is in the picture was trying not the block the meters screen and not paying attention, but even redoing it without touching either lead still get the 0.7 reading.

Mine are the zd-1a’s blade style. I’d like to get a 6.0 harness and swap to zd9’s but time and money lol

My question was directed at the original poster.....you have a completely different glow system, maybe you should start your own thread?
