How do egts run at such a level? Can you tow heavy?

In your video above things look ok, but was there any load other than standard gear?

Right now I can’t get egts past 900*

This is with my intercooler kit, ported heads 3” downpipe a little water **** and my experimental 3m injectors. Non intercooled I could hit 1250 pulling my 34’ Avion camper, had to downshift to 4th once heading to west Texas during the summer but was still able to maintain my 80 mph pace. This was with some crap injectors that have been replaced since then.

I guess that's not horrible. Direct drive must have been spinning some serious rpms too. I guess if a decent block can handle that, it should fit most of my needs

I would love to see dyno sheets @Thewespaul
got any?s
dyno sheets tell you only one part of the story. the other part is you just have to load her up and take her out on a cross country run and see how she leaves you at the end of the day. My '92 CC dually 4x2 gives me a very relaxed feel. nothing is being pushed to the limits, and at the end of a 12 hour haul, you're not feeling like a wreck. Good smooth power, wide powerband, no struggling going uphill, excellent engine braking downhill, and best of all, stopping power on demand. This is also towing a 10k/gvw trailer, with the truck loaded to 10k/gvw.
I'll take this all day long.

Well said Calvin. Dyno numbers are only part of how a truck performs, I don’t know of any of my customers putting their trucks on dynos as far as I know, but plenty of happy owners pulling loads with ease the stock na engine would barely get up a hill,

I’m much more proud of seeing this kinda stuff than dyno graphs, because reliability is the most important thing for me, but hopefully with projects like Jerry,

And the shop truck,

I can satisfy what everyone wants to see. Once I have the shop truck dialed in and I have the time, I will be putting it on the dyno to set a new bench mark with the stock turbo stock ip. Same with Jerry once it’s complete. The shop truck has already proven to me to be dead reliable for daily driving, heavy towing, and taking a beating at the drag strip. :)

@Thewespaul , do you have an outline of what you've done to the shop truck (or haven't done for that matter) that we could refer too? I'm curious what set of parts nets that combination of characteristics in your book, I have a feeling it'll be close to where I want to send one of my trucks

He has a build thread, just search CDD Shop Truck and grab a snack. :D
Edit: make sure you check the box "search titles only"

Excellent, thanks. I knew searching the words "shop truck" on the whole probably wouldn't be productive lol.

95cc at 105* and 100cc at room temp. A year ago I would never thought it was possible to get more than 90cc out of a pump without upgrading the leaf spring, but getting this pump done and tested on the test stand made me eat crow on that. If you know what you’re doing the stock pump is enough to make some good power numbers. Ill have the shop truck on the dyno soon, hoping to make more than 250 at the wheels with a stock turbo stock ip...

I 100% agree reliability is hugely important. Never questioned that. What I am saying is if you are hoping for more power than has ever been dynod on a stock pump, got any dyno sheets? Track slips, stuff like that. Just wanting to see what power levels you are able to make. That is all

All the info you are looking for is in the shop truck thread, I have drag times posted there and I will post the dyno results once I have the truck dialed. Most recent number I have gotten is 0-60 in 7.8 seconds launching very soft. If you put that number into an online calculator with the trucks 6600 lbs weight you can get an estimate of the power numbers.

The important part here is the banks turbo. You upgrade the turbo and all of a sudden the 90 gives just a puff of smoke...

So when you say upgrade the pump......what exactly do you mean 90 or 110 ?
I just put Stage 1 injectors from R & D but still need to put the truck back together. I did see some IPs on the R & D website....which one would match up with the injectors and the turbo work being done to put out 15 psi ?

I’d stick with the stock pump for now, and just adjust it to make the fuel you want. Without doing much work to it you can get simular fueling as a 90cc pump assuming your pump is healthy. You’ll probably want an intercooler before going with a bigger pump
