My 2000 toyota tundra 4.7l v8 died, I was off-roading with my buddies, got back on pavement fine then it died then I hit the gas and it "pop-started" at about 20-25 mph and kept dying about 4 or 5 times again until It finally quit and hasn't started or even fired once, pulled a plug no spark towed it home with my buddy's 7.3 PSD, It has coil over plug wires so not the problem, cranks, has fuel, idk what is wrong not much experience with new gas motors please help!

I know nothing about that engine, but to throw out some food for thought... Does it have a distributor? If so, is the rotor turning? Trigger wire getting power? If it doesnt have a dizzy, is the computer coming on? Did the ecu connector come loose? No broken ground straps?

i'm trying to determine if you busted a timing or not. if you did break a belt, the motor will spin almost twice as fast since there is no compression.
Nope not spinning faster I'll run a compression check tomorrow.

No distributor, it's coil over plug so there are 8 coils everything else works fine, radio, etc. haven't looked at ecu or ground straps it was dark and I was late for supper so ill have to look at it tomorrow, just wanted some ideas thanks guys.
