I’ve seen that site many times. We used to hunt over in Hampshire county WV close to Romney when I was a kid.

Guarantee you one thing, I clogged a few lungs climbing that hill (both directions). My engine smokes like crazy when the truck is loaded and you're into the throttle. Swear I could crest the top @90mph if didn't have to back out of throttle due to EGT's and I'm only running stock turbo & boost (8psi, no studs). Love Western MD, been going there to hunt annually since 1980's.

Picture is from a few weeks ago. Gave the old truck a nice workout. Drove pretty much entirely by the pyrometer. Was able to hit 65 a few times on the long flat stretches.
that is a cool old truck, what sort of engine, drive train does that have?

My truck will pull them about as fast as the water temp will let me with the camper. If I can wrangle that, I’ll be pretty happy.

73 C900? Does it have 534 or a diesel?

that is a cool old truck, what sort of engine, drive train does that have?

1977 Ford C600. It has a 361 gasser in it that runs really well, but boy does it drink the fuel. Behind that is a 4 speed transmission and a 2 speed rear end (6.33/8.11). Hydrovac brakes with dual boosters, and about a million miles of brake lines.

Edit: Forgot to mention the truck is double framed. I haven't weighed it yet, but i can promise you i sure noticed it behind me.

Its a project that hopefully i will get to soon. Its going to get a different engine and transmission in it soon.

Today I replaced my dying alternator. I wanted to do a 3G swap, but don't have the time and money right now. I got it at a local parts store where I have a charge account so I didn't have to pay for it all at once. It came with a single groove pulley so I had to swap them out. For some reason, my set up doesn't work very well for taking off and installing the belt. It's easier to remove both bolts and then rotate it slightly clockwise to remove the belt. As I was installing the belt onto the new alternator, I dropped it. Of course the positive stud fell against the fuel filter housing bracket and burned up the fusible link.-cussI went ahead and finished to installation so it's ready to go after I get some more fusible link. One of the downsides of living in this rural area is that not only are there no local parts stores open on Sunday, they also close early on Saturday. I'd have to drive for 70+ miles to find one that is open on Sunday. I would do that if I didn't have a core to return and another truck to drive. Now I have to wait until Monday to drive the diesel again. The only good thing was that the fusible link did it's job.

Have to ask this where can someone find that bed camper you for less then a arm&leg price range and what would be it called so I might search around where I live n eBay n such been looking for that type of camper instead of a pull behind.

Discovered my truck love mud n well still trying to figure out if stuff with help of this forum n going to replace stock raido though hate doing it, hauled a 5k lb can of mine to a scrapyard motor blew tanks was half the got about $400 out of it for truck parts. of course most part stores are.closed on Sunday

I'm not understanding, this was while installing the alt?
Why not disconnect the batteries? Or at least wrap something around the cable end to keep it from shorting?
Or you were just changing the belt, and the stud (with cable attached) touched something? If this one, does it not have the little rubber cover for the stud?

The rubber is long gone. Yes I should have at least wrapped electrical tape around it to cover the stud but didn't. It was while to install the new alternator. Next time, I'll disconnect from the solenoid on the fender.
