I went to AutoZone and got a new filter. Idiot behind the counter couldn't find "universal electric fuel pump" in the computer so I guess they don't carry them:mad:

My AutoZone has them on the shelf, out on the sales floor. Look in the aisle with the other "speed parts" in mine, it over on the battery side of the store, not the filter side of the store....... LOL

Or here are all the options, in stock or not.....

@snicklas

I was hinting at that. I don't know the store, I usually shop at Advance because they have a few guys that actually know what they are doing. I kept hinting and he just kept looking in the computer. I gave up and just got my filter. After fighting with the truck for a few hours I kinda wanted to knock some sense into him so I decided it was time to go LOL

Here, I either use AutoZone or NAPA. We have an Advance, but I'm not impressed with the one here.... to goto Oreally or Pep Boys, I have to go to Indy.... Most times, I use AutoZone, they have longer hours....

Fortunately, most of the people that work at both have grey hair.......

Just to clarify, if I have the key on so the FSS is powered any fuel pumped to the IP should come out the return on top if the engine is off right?

In other words, if an electric pump is pushing I should be getting fuel out of that return right?

Most the time you won’t when the truck has been sitting because the transfer pump pressure regulator will be in the stuck shut position

I would Hotwire the IP to make sure. The ignition switch might not be good or properly adjusted.

Well I do hear the FSS click when I disconnect it and reconnect it. I'll keep that in mind though in case it doesn't start right up. Thanks.

Something Mel told me at the rally. The cold advance being active will help bleed the air faster. If the temp switch isn’t working, it may not be kicking on. If the pump internals are gunked up might try some atf in the filter and run the fuel pump a couple minutes to soak it.

Having the mechanical pump in line may be a hinderance. Not sure. Might be contributing to the fuel pressure/delivery issue.

Well cold advance, high idle, and FSS all confirmed to have power. I'm not sure if the internals are gunked or not. ATF in the filter was the FIRST thing I did the other day. Got the new filter on it and a working e-pump. Still doesn't want to start. Super frustrating right now.

Let us know when she chooches

Fired for a minute, then started sucking air somehow and died. Getting real close but that makes it all the more frustrating.

Realized I had a kink in the supply line, go figure.
