ive removed the utility box bed from my 1997 f250. I’m building a wooden flatbed for it. Need to figure out exactly how much tire clearance I need.

Hmmm. Got multiple pics. Anyway, cleaned frame with needle scaler. Washed. Degreased and then started applying rust proof md from Napa.

I’m running 235 85r16 tires. Don’t plan to ever run different.
Planning a wood flatbed made of treated 2x8 wood. This seems to give me 7” of clearance from tread to bed. Is it enough?

I'll be watching this thread. Might be doing this myself before long.

Got some more done today. This is a rough perimeter. I gotta cut wheel well openings. Buy some more lumber and angle iron.

I got a little further today. Cut wheel well arches. Installed the fuel filler necks.

I’ve done only a small amount of work on truck last couple days. I’m awaiting parts I’ve ordered online. This pic shows how I installed angle iron bolted to the frame verticallly up onto the wood. More pics to come
:Thumbs Up

These a going to become inner fender wells, or wheel well liners. To lessen road salt and mud etc ...from getting all over my truck. Made from poly drums :Thumbs Up
Way cheaper than what I’ve found to buy.
I’ll try to get pictographs them mounted on the truck too.

Just another pic to show how it’s framed on the truck.

It’s not perfect it’s still getting large mud flaps. But this beats having no wheel covers by 1000%
