My 88' Centurion has a fiberglass sun visor. The problem is it was mounted with self tapping screws and the holes over time became loose/stripped out. Does anyone have a picture of the interior roof without a headliner ? I'm wondering if I can just replace the screws with a bolt and nut from the inside. I looked for pics , couldn't find any.

I used rivnuts to fix mine. Drill, put insert in and expand, worked great.
I was thinking about this. What brand do you have ? All of the ones I've been reading about supposedly break after a few uses. But I don't really want to spend $200 on a fancy pneumatic one.

I paid $53 for this and am happy with it. Have used it only a dozen or so inserts. On smaller inserts you have to be mindful to compress handles from both sides or you will bend nosepiece. I have used it on 5/16 and 3/8 as well and is holding up. If I used it daily that might be another story. It is one of those tools that is nice to have even if you don’t use it often.

I used these stainless washers and screws. Not sure what you call them, but the washer is cupped and the screw fits into it and the head is oval. I felt that this would increase the clamping area and not as likely to pull through the fiberglass. I bought them at Lowe’s in the bagged stainless area. It gives it a better finished look I think.

I might have some stainless pop rivits with a rubber gasket at home you could have. I believe they use a 1/4” hole. My 83 has no head liner, would a picture of that be helpful?

Thank you , I appreciate the offer! I am still curious what the roof looks like so pics would be great if you don't mind. I am going to grab a cheap harbor freight rivnut tool and give it a try.
