Hey all,

86’ f250 with the 3spd c6
... I live in Southern California and commute for work. I don’t mind keeping it at 55 but even doing so I know my gas mileage is way worse then it could be. I plan on keeping the truck for a long while so sometime in the future i plan to put a 5 speed in her. One reason I wanna swap it is because there’s no sense in putting a turbo on the truck if i’m already screaming at 60. Also can anyone speak to the difference between RDI’s “ auto “ vs “ manual “ turbo ?.
Fuel mileage will have to increase for me to keep the truck so considering I put money into the trans and the gear ratio, what’s a realistic mpg to aim/Hope for?

I'm not real familiar with R&D's products, but my guess would be that the differences are in the up pipes. That's where most of the kits seem to have their differences. Other that than that, the rest should be the same between manual and auto transmissions. You could also try to give Macrobb a PM. He uses R&D products most of the time.
