Hey guy so I have a Jetta TDI and it's my wife's commuter lately she has told me that when she goes to pass someone and stabs the throttle it takes some time before the car seems to want to even consider moving I was thinking turbo lag but after driving it it's not turbo lag and I can't figure it out

if the Check engine light is on, Check the ECU boost reference hose. If it is not seeing correct boost it will limit power. any small leak will cause this, there is an internal line you need to check too. Its a Map sensor that is soldered on the circuit board and has a small hose that runs to a bulk head fitting in the ECU case. Just remember to disconnect that Battery when you messing with the ECU.

Hey thank you I got the codes checks at the local shop in town and all that came up was the glow plugs relay so changed that then I pulled the fuel filter dumped it out on a white shop rag and it was full of crap I replaced with a new one filled with atf and clean diesel and she is running better haven't noticed any lag for a few days and the wife said it is not lagging it's just wierd the filter only had 3000 or so miles on it
