I've tried the regular methods of persuasion but they're frozen pretty tight after sitting 5 years.

Cable disconnected at front end didn't help.
Any advice to loosen drums or is beating the snot out of it the best way?

I need to drag this out of a field and then winch onto trailer. I must be reading too much 50 Shades, I can't stop this masochism hee hee.

Heat is your friend, get one side really hot then go to the other side while that one cools off. Keep doing that until it breaks free. If it doesn’t, just pull the axles out and get it somewhere easier to work on

definitely alot of pb blaster. on the back of the drum should be the adjustment to loosen and tighten the pads. loosen them the most you can. an air hammer will work good too. it will take awhile but it will come off. good luck

Pull the wheels if you can, might be hard to in the middle of a field on dirt, then heat and beat.

I now feel like I was being too careful and wasting time trying not to break a part that probably needs to be replaced anyway...
Hammer. They either come free or the drums break. Either way it moves.

Thanks for the brainstorming!!

Heading there now with blaster and a bigger hammer and my old rusty drums I am taking from my truck in case I break them. I don't have any torch available at midnight. And a can of redbull and PB Blast. Hope I drink the right one!

I don't know what the Redbull will do for the brakes, but drinking a can of PB Blaster should break loose everything in your gut. Just be ready when it starts moving.

Was thinking the same thing when I read that lol surely would have no gut issues after that n with a strong enough winch I would try n move it a lil after u drowned the thing in PB blast or some wd 40 then if that doesn't work beat it to death since it has to be moved any way

Rather than destroying the drums, cut the little pin heads on the back side of the backing plate, shoes will come off with the drum.

I'm glad you thought to post that! One of the things I usually forget about!

That won't help if they're seized solid to the hub though unfortunately. Any luck yet Danielle?
