The safety guy where I work told me about this truck he has. He does not drive it and said he would sell it but wants me to make him an offer. It is a Canadian truck so the underside is rusty and it has daytime running lights. It is a 1994 with the 7.3 idit and an e4od that was rebuilt with a shift kit 15k ago. Has a new injection pump and it starts well, was sitting for 3 months when we fired it off today with just one cycle of the glows and a 5 second crank. Drives ok but has something loose in the d50 front axle. Has non working AC but it says it is r134 so that is a plus. Pretty clean inside, has 4.10 gears. I am in NW Washington but trucks like this are usually not as rusty. Looking for input.

Got any more pictures? If the rust it real bad like not going to pass inspection in a few years bad then I’d say 2000-2500 is fair.

It is just surface rust on the frame, which is unusual around here. My 86 crewcab was a farm truck and it still was a black painted frame. This truck has a spot in the lower front fender by the drivers door that is rusting through and cracking out. The extended cab on each side has rust bubbles forming under the paint.

3 grand tops then. Truck looks real clean from that picture but sounds like you’re going to have to replace some body panels down the road. If it were me, I would drive it till it gets bad then drop the idit into another old ford

Naw it goes down because it has dtlr which is harder on batteries and alternators.

Those can be switched off on it, I think it's just a box near on the core support, I had a 460 truck that had them, it was unplugged when I got the truck and I plugged it in to see what it did and only thing I noticed was headlights came on only.

Yeah, DRL is just a plug in box on the core support.

While I'm not sure on price, my '93 was in way worse shape rust-wise than yours and I ended up paying $1950 for it... but it did have a 5-speed(factory turbo truck).
Mine, well, needs a new bed(big rust holes and totally rotten structurally), both fenders and a bit of cab repair in the rear corners.
...I still daily-drive it.

Canadian truck so value goes up because it's imported. :Thumbs Up

No it goes down because of the exchange rate! Lol
I turn all my lights on all the time as long as I'm driving. Vehicles with lights on get into 20% less collisions than vehicles without them on. I like those odds to be in my favor! And even before my 3g alt and relay headlight mods it didnt have trouble charging during driving.

As for rust on the frame...that only happens here in WA when nothing is leaking in the engine bay! She's a keeper! :D

Anywho I like the plan to grab it and run it till the engine/transmission need a new home, then swap it out.
I don't know much about pricing out here except that its WAY higher than when I got my rig in 2006ish. I bought my pickup in eastern WA for $900. The same pickup now is $2500 min, in worse shape.
If the potential rig is just sitting you can always offer low to start negotiations. Worst case he says no... and "something not working in the D50" is a great place to start with a low number. Steering and brakes are essential!!!

Yeah being a lower mile factory turbo with new trans and IP I really can't go wrong with it. I know a guy with a beat f350 I can snag the d60 out of.
