Last night I noticed this on top of the transmission. It looks like the hose broke off long ago and I did not see anything when I was disconnecting everything. I'm about to craw back under to see if I can find the other part of hose. . .but I know I did not see anything hanging when I was inspecting everything after i removed trans.

What is it? Thanks!

Don’t sweat it. Connect a shorter hose to it and let it hang on the side or do nothing IF YOU PLAN TO NEVER ALLOW your transmission to puke. When it does, it comes from the orifice.

Thanks for all the advice! Again, much appreciated.

So...this has become a very big headache... I finally got it all put back together a couple weeks ago. When I was adding the fluid into the transmission it was leaking like crazy and I found out that I damaged the transmission fluid fill tube and it had a hole it at the clamp that attaches to the top bolt of trans. Well after searching 2 junk yards I finally found one and installed it yesterday...boy o boy that was a JOB! Lol. I had to take the exhaust pipe loose from the turbo and it was just a chore. It's done now.

Ok now I have all the fluid in it and I started it up and it is making a squeaking noise when you first start the truck and in reverse.. when in drive it also make a slight squeak and then goes away. The truck drives fine. Backs up drives forward with no problems. After warming up the squeaking goes away. But when I turn the truck off and the right back on it squeaks agin and then goes away after a minute or so.

Any suggestions? Any suggestions on a transmission shop in Houston,tx? Thanks

Could I have damaged the front pump on the transmission?

So... remind me again what did you all do? What was put in and button up as I read no new parts and such? That racking sound could be your sprag - it does make that noise till it grenades your transmission. 1999 4r100 and all.

Update:

It ended up being the TC and the flexplate. Only took me a few times to figure it all out.

I can remove and install a 4r100 with my eyes closed now. [emoji23]
