Doing some homework on a possible swap, would like at least 350hp is this possible with a ve? or a modified aftermarket pump? or should I look into switching to a p-pump?

P pump is always better than ve, but it gets costly quick. I would say with the right injectors 350 is doable.

350 is not to difficult. Talk to The gentleman at The Hungry Diesel. Great guy. Best to get a ready to go VE Pump. Upgrade turbo, injectors, Piston Fuel pump, etc. There is a lot you can do with a VE. P Pump is cool. But the swap takes some work ( easier to swap in a ppump motor).

Having driven my buddies' 2ndgens.... I prefer the VE pump for a daily-driver. I'd build one to 350hp before considering a p-pump swap.

For a long time the "official record" of highest verified rwhp from a 12mm VE was the moderator on 1stgen.org. He dynoed 489 rwhp in his '93.

Eric at The Hungry Diesel broke a barrier with the 12mm VE a few months ago. Dynoed 643 rwhp with his VE 12v powered ramcharger.
