Well, Resistance Temp Detectors (RTD) are actually nearly linear. However TCs are completely nonlinear and really do not have a "sweet" flat spot. The signal has to be linearized by the equipment reading them. On top of this,TCs actually have a "not so sweet" spot where one of the metals becomes...- xantusak

No, unless you have crimp connectors made from the same material as each of the TC wires. Otherwise, every time you have a connection through different metals, you introduce additional TC junctions=> reading incorrect temperature. Getting my pyro working
Red and yellow wire is a K type. Red is typically negative (allways on US manufactured TCs), however on imprted TCs it might be backward. No damage will be done by changing polarity, it just will read incorrectly. I do not understand the logic of K before turbo and J after?? Why would anyone...- xantusak

Head studs in and heads stayed on
Yeah, like someone else asked, how exactly did you do this? Losened up and replaced one at the time, never really releasing the pressure off the gasket? In this case I do not understand how would you(and even why) torque the studs in stages. Just torqued to a certain point, took a sip of beer...- xantusak

Governor Speed too low?
I dumped a quart of oil in the CDR hole in less then 10 seconds and the oil seemed to flow in very well...so i figured it didn't need any holes....I might still have to take it apart again and make some holes/ silicone the tube..I would like to replace that gromet though as it was somewhat...- xantusak

Governor Speed too low?
The pedestal sort of imitates the CDR valve. Found a pipe of the same diameter as the CDR tube, welded it to a flat bar to mount to the CDR bolting location. then 1" sq tubing offset towards the driver's side some with the turbo oil return flange welded to it. Damn, after reading all these comments about the Diesel Care place I think I will just live with the pump I have then. Aside the low governor speed it seems to run ok. Don't want to chance it and get another one that will not run good at all....This is already a second one and they might just...- xantusak

Well, if I manage to attach the pics, go ahead, take a look. It is not pretty, I didn't bother with tig welding, although I could have at work. I just zapped it with a mig, didn't have the time and patience to make it look sweet, it is a crude truck. However, there is not much that could be seen...- xantusak

Yikes Are you suggesting the pump will not last too long?? And it is not possible to change the governor setting?? I don't really care for a "hot" pump, do not intend to rip the sh** out of the engine, just wannted to make it run a bit stronger without smoking and deal better with hills....- xantusak

Governor Speed too low?
What RPM can you guys pull your engine up to? I just recently got a new pump from Diesel Care and Performance and it seems like it doesn't want to rev how it used to. I wonder if they didn't adjust the governor correctly(this is actually a second pump from them, had to send the first one back...- xantusak
