    I don't know that I'll need one either. But from what I've read on the PSD forums, I'm better off putting it in if I ever plan on towing. Just to keep the EGT's down. I have a SD turbo setup that I can swap in all at once if I do it. Just need to do it all at once before I start final paint...

    Looks like the answer I was looking for. Doing a bullnose clip swap on my 96 psd and wondered if an IC from a 99 SD could be made to fit. Definitely less headaches if I keep to stage 1.5 and don’t need the IC.

    Worst case I think I’ll put the bottom section from the 97 into a gas support from a bricknose. Just prefer not to have to cut and weld.

    I think it’s a tall radiator. It’s out of a 97 Powerstroke. I have ends that I’m attempting to weld up, but a stock one would be preferable.

    Based on power, economy, and a full donor truck popping up for 1k, I went with the OBS PowerStroke. It was too good to pass up considering folks in my region were asking more than that for a long block IDI. Now to strip it down to what I need.

    Which one gives better mileage for power? Price wise the PSD maybe cheaper for me because all I have to do is rent a trailer to haul it home. But long term the PSD will need a rebuild and the IDI are probably good for several years.

    It’s a 1996 body and frame. Engine is probably a 1999 unless I find a screaming deal on something better. I may have found a 2005-06 6.0 donor, but waiting to hear back. It needs work, but so does the 99 (probably). But maybe I could part out the 99 to pay for the 2005.
