    6.5L DB-2 electronic??

Hi, welcome to the forums.... Okay, short answer is no, they cannot be converted over to full mechanical, you are better off to re-sell them, and buy a good quality rebuild(with new head and rotor) or if you add a bit more $$$$, a brand new one,, if you so choose a longer more indepth...

Who all can mod a ATS/Factory Ford turbo... cheaply?

Same thing with all the other turbos we have built and tried, have never balanced anything, although we have never had a cover cut larger, or clipped turbine wheels.... but i have built over 30 holsets and never had one explode due to balance issues...

Who all can mod a ATS/Factory Ford turbo... cheaply?

What size is the actual stock wheel to begin with? something like 54mm ind-78mm exd? I have always been under the assumption that if a 12 point nut is used the entire frame is built using component balanced parts, where-as a 6 point nut indicated it was spun up and balnced as a whole...Holsets...

    Interesting Stanadyne pump

The first 2 years of the 6.5l turbo were mechanical pumps with .310" plungers, as well as all the g-van NA 6.5l(1994-1996), and subsequently every mechanically injected 6.5l humvee was .310" also... gm only used the .290" pumps on the 1982-1993 6.2l NA engines.... I was only using the .290" as...

    Interesting Stanadyne pump

The DS4 pumps are actually quite different than a traditional 2 plunger DB-2 pump, they are closer related to a DB4 pump(4 .310" plungers versus [email protected]"), although the head is a larger diameter than a DB-2 and does not fit into the housings.... they are actual quite anemic,(even with the latest...

have you tested your fuel pressure under load, still running with a mechanical lift pump? it might be dropping to zero, or even creating a vacuum, not good for the transfer pump in the IP... the measurements are all over the map for an hx 40, seems like its just the throat of the compressor...

they are all mitsubishi turbos, the early gm banks kits used Rotomasters(garrett), and the final kit for the gmt400 trucks used a te06h, which early on was a coveted upgrade for our platform.... the side mount banks were probably the best kit ever offered for the gm......

unofficially probably has over 300WHP, in a 10,000lbs work truck with 3.42 gears, we beat our friends 1978 corvette with it, from stop light to stop light, but that isnt saying much with a late 70's smogger corvette, now if we put the engine into his corvette and built a turbo kit to match it...

the ford style VVT is not electro-mechanical actuated though, is it not? i thought they used a solenoid that used oil pressure inside the actuation housing with o-rings on the "spool valve" to pick its position..... but, they also used the sweet v-band connection, which is much better for tight...
