    Finally got the truck back from the stealerahip, $1800.00, a FICM and a injector later it starts and runs like new I have yet to drive it, haven't been called out for any road service calls yet but there should be a noticeable increase in power.

    Jasper I know on the big trucks all of the control modules have to be flashed with the correct parameters or the vehicle won't react properly.

    I don't have a good quality scanner to do the diagnostic work, or the ability to flash it. So the best option was to take it to the stealership at least it will be fixed right.

    The local stealership said about $700 for the part and labor is extra, but either way it needs to fixed and it's a company truck glad it isn't my truck. There is no way I could have done this job I have no way to flash the FICM.

    OK so this could be a oil/injector problem The oil additive can be used at any time Not a glow plug problem. Is that correct? Then the cheap way out is to change the oil and use a additive Is that correct? If that doesn't work then start looking for bad injectors Is that correct?

    could this just be a oil problem and not a glow plug problem, I'm not too familiar with the way this engine operates. Once I start using this oil additive do I have to continue using it?

    Not sure about mileage of the last oil change but the oil in the engine is delo 10w30 full synthetic CJ-4 rated oil, the filter I believe is a WIX.

    it idles bad with a lot of black smoke, I have to keep my foot in it to keep it running until it gets to a temperature it can stay running

    '86 IDI no fuel to injectors

    My buddy has a '86 IDI NA 2wd with a ZF5 I swapped the IP out for him. No I didn't remove the gear the IP I only removed the IP with the hard lines to the injectors. The lift pump pushes fuel to the IP inlet but I'm wondering why it doesn't want to start or even bleed the air out of the hard...
