If all you are worried about is Boat Ramps, Put a Limited Slip Differential in the rear end. Save a Lot of Time, Money and Work. You will be fine.- spg

C6 band adjusting nut part #?
The Industry standard part number for a C6 band adjusting nut is #36922. All C6 transmissions 66-97 should use the same adjusting nut.- spg

Too much fuel filtration, microns and WMO
Consider a Baldwin BF7587 filter as your final filter.- spg

Oil or fuel filter?
A good final filter is a Baldwin BF7587. Large housing and low micron will keep everything clean going to the injection pump.- spg

Car's and SUV's don't make great tow vehicles.
Notice many of the crashes are caused when the vehicles run into the air from the Semi trucks and trailers pushing them sideways.- spg

C6 slipping second gear
If you can drive it and get it into 3rd gear then pull the shifter manually to 2nd. If it downshifts the band is OK.- spg

Reese Dual Cam Sway Controller for ANY weight distributing hitch is the way to go. If you get into a trailer sway condition. Apply Trailer brakes if available but also remember to Never touch car brakes and in most cases accelerating will pull you out of the sway. The trailer HAS to follow the...- spg

C6 Finally Died
There is not a C6 transmission with a lock up torque converter. The later E4OD which evolved from the C6 is a Lockup transmission.- spg

If you can rebuild the trans yourself use a good rebuild kit with Raybestos, Borg Warner or Alto clutches and a TCI Transcat shift kit, A TCI deep aluminum pan, Towing torque converter, As big a cooler as you can fit on the truck with a spin on in line filter and you will have a long lasting...- spg
