Yeah brake feel consistent every time. Pedal feels linear. Usually get three good power stops with gas reservoir after engine off.
Drove a friends newer f250 with vacuum boost recently. Felt mushy and inconsistent. Don't think will ever have another rig without it
Been looking at the 110cc pumps available, but really hate seeing my fuel leave the truck through smoke
Anybody ever able to make a very low smoke setup using high volume pumps?
With a well designed fast spoiling intercooled turbo system, possible to get there?
I had a filter assembly out of a newer IDI truck and upgraded filter laying around forever. Just installed it because why the hell not. Helps isolate the problem
Going to fill tanks and recheck tomorrow. Cycle the tank switch. Check the fuel supply when it's in 5mph mode
Leaning toward the...
Yeah linkage is good. Fuel supply to IP is very good. No smoke at any point. Couldn't imagine timing being off and the engine running well otherwise.
Truck runs perfect for 5 mins then power slowly starts going down. Acts like it's starving for fuel. Even at 15 minutes it only dies when letting...
Injection pump has 30k miles on it. Truck starts fast and drives well at first. A little lower powered than normal
After 5 minutes of driving power is way down. After 15 minutes I'm just crawling along and truck dies at stoplight! Power drop is linear. No surging. 5mph top speed.
Restarts fine...
I've learned to make bends around my thumb and half inch ratchet extensions. Just have to pull the line firmly away from the bend as you're making it (stops the kinks) Same way a mandrel exhaust bender works. Pull then bend. The softer line compounds bend super easy
Heard it from others that the thinner walls of the of the 7.3 allowed micro flexing that created cavitation, and cavitation wasn't an issue in these engines until the displacement was bumped up.
Along with that, was told coolant additive was developed specifically for the 7.3 motor and the 6.9...
Unless the timing is way off, it should still start and idle fine. I can move the IP back and forth a couple dimes and the average person would never notice the difference in sound and performance
I'm guessing this is the first time the R&D IP has been installed? Timing does fluctuate from pump...
Honestly it's a bit refreshing. People around here would rather flame each all day more than just talk about smokey old broke diesels. The vulgarity was getting a bit much..

Lmc truck and classic industries are awesome for finding that obscure stuff. They actually sell formed hard lines, which is rare
