2005 F350 6.0 liter truck value
Because of the utility body and rack it's not going to appeal to many people. However, those that it does appeal to would be willing to pay a little more because they will see it as the tool it is. A regular OBD II scanner is useless for these, you want to be able to monitor real time data. A ScanGuage II can be purchased at Advance Auto Parts for around $100. I went with the one that uses the OEM filter, I don't remember why. Anyhow, best money I have spent even if it was good money after bad. Doesn't matter, I'm need this truck to last me just 5 more years then I'll get something new cause I'll be retired and I'll need something for traveling.- rjglenn

Sorry to revive an old thread but it's been a year so & I'm the OP so I thought I'd give an update. I did make a mistake buying this truck. If I had known then what I know now I would not have bought this particular truck, but I'm fine with a 6.0 in general. The first issue was with the IPR...- rjglenn

Need to resurrect a 2004/06 6.0L
I wish someone would give me a King Ranch... +1 on the fuel pressure. If the fuel pressure is below 45 psi. the injectors won't fill completely and the high pressure oil will beat them apart internally. The fuel cushions the parts from the impact of what can be up to 4000 psi of oil pressure...- rjglenn

aquired 20 gallons of pink colored marine diesel fuel. anyone ever used it???
Um, the money from the fuel taxes goes to maintain the roads... If you don't want to pay fuel taxes maybe we should raise everyone's income taxes some more, even though they're pretty high now, or you could just stay off the roads since you don't want to pay to maintain them. 6.0 Shopping, what to look for?
Oh yeah, you'll want to take a look at the FICM voltage too. Needs to be above 48 volts. I like the Scangauge II. It's fairly inexpensive and can be used on many different vehicles. Best of luck to you.- rjglenn

I bought a used 6.0 back in October. I spent $728 three days after buying it to replace the injector pressure regulator because I didn't know better. Looking back I would tell you to: Go buy a Scangauge II. Set it up to monitor water temp, engine oil temp, injector control pressure...- rjglenn

zf5 tranny question
I got a 4R100 transmission out of a junk yard once that was in a motorhome. It came with a parking brake and a US Gear external OD or UD (who knows?). Sold the brake on eBay, the OD/UD (?) was full or water so none of the bearings were any good and the transmission had a crack in it so that...- rjglenn

Cruise and high idle do not work and I don't have a cab brake light
No abs or brake light on, unless the parking brake is on, then the brake light is on. Horn works, the backlights on the steering wheel buttons work.- rjglenn

It's a 2005 F350, it is a cab & chassis 4x4 standard diesel It does not have, nor has it ever had the third stop light up on the cab. I don't know what this truck was in it's former life, where the third light would normally be there is a piece of black plastic. Maybe it used to be a box...- rjglenn
