anybody want to trade a PSD for an IDI?
I don't know if this post will show up. Anyhow as you may know I went to a 95 F-Superduty PSD best move I ever made now I'am looking for a lower kilometer F-Superduty or F-450 if I can find one. The IDI doesn't even come close to a PSD for powerwise would I go back to a IDI probably not...- Pacific

Finally looking at buying a tandem
Now I'am looking for a Ford LT9000 or a old Kenworth W-900A if I can find one after looking at the price of new F-450 4x4s for 46 grand I think a bigger truck is a better option.- Pacific

Upgrade questions
The old 400 Cummins is good they are so so on fuel the 13spd transmission works good behind them. They are pretty much good for 400hp I wouldn't want to-go much more with one. You do know the old Cummins are really blue belchers so if you want to use this for a RV make sure you get used...- Pacific

Truck camper length
You really have to watch campers I have a feeling you will have power steering. You may even have problems where the truck will see saw on the rear axle and if one of your rear brakes grab a little better than the other it may steer your truck. My neighbours down the road have a real nice...- Pacific

7.3 IDI vs 460 EFI
I had a 88 F-450 with 11' dump with 460 power it loved gas but it would run circles around my 89 IDI. I had 9000lbs of gravel on my 88 it carried it like nothing the engine never powered out. Most F-450s with 460s had the 4:63 gearing the IDIs came with 5:13 gearing. My old IDI wouldn't...- Pacific

Hard Decisions...
Gotta do like what Goat Boy did and suffer with Dodges quality if you want pulling power or do like I did and buy a PSD. Actually its the best move I ever made the PSD makes me :D The PSD has more power I'am not a power junky so I doubt I will be chipping or trying to boost the power it...- Pacific

Occasional Voltage Gauge flux when headlights on
I had what you described with the 89 I had a brandnew alt and regulator never did figure it out. I never did have any troubles with it I was told thou that some regulators were faulty and didn't work with the alt. The old IDI is gone tommorow (sept 01)
Well the old truck is gone I hope it works out fine for the new owner I'am glad I got the money (4500.00). I can get a hoist and start building a dumping flatdeck for the 95. The old IDI is gone tommorow (sept 01)
The guy that wants to buy my truck is paying me tommorow and taking it home with him. Little sad to see it go but the 95 is nice to drive I can sure feel the difference between a 89 and 95. The 95 has 124,442kms (77,319 miles) less on the clock. I hate to say it the PSD has more power and...- Pacific

Update on my opinion of my new truck
Well I have been driving the 95 to my transit job the PSD is a dream to drive the the 10% grades seem like mole hills now. The old IDI is topped out at 80 km/h (50mph) it won't accelerate any faster the PSD does 50mph at 2000 rpm in OD step on it a little more and I'am doing 100km/h 62mph with...- Pacific
