Gotcha thanks for the good info. I was looking at running 200cc/30% nozzles. And I will def get back to you on the complete set up. Just got this engine so haven’t had a chance to do a compete look over.
Yes it has a hydra chip and I was looking to get my injectors from swamp diesel. They offer to put 6 programs on the chip for free. Do I need to tell them my exact situation so that they program it for the obs pcm?
Also I believe the engine already has all the upgrades needed regarding the turbo and oil system and fuel system I’m just trying to make sure I cover all my basis when it comes to making it communicate with the obs. And of course making sure the zf5 will work
Well the SD 7.3 already has a decked out fuel system from regulated return, to the frame mounted pump and filters, an adrenaline hpop, and a larger turbo plus more. It also has about 200k less miles than the engine in my truck now. So I was more looking to swap the whole engine. And are you...
So I have a Frankenstein OBS truck that I am looking to put an SD 7.3 into. It is a 1997 Ford F350 4x4 CCLB w/ the 7.3 and a ZF5. Originally the truck was a 2wd automatic dually and I installed the suspension from my old 94 f250 along with the bed and ZF5 to make it a 4x4 5 speed truck. Now I...
The way the controller works is it determines the amount of time it’s gonna turn your glow plugs on by a resistance reading. That’s why if you have just one back one reading over 1 ohms it’ll shorten the cycle of the whole system. Not my favorite setup IMO I switched to push button
I’ve never had good luck with any style glow plug but motor craft. Idk why but with the current running through them and the fact that those IDIs need that heat to fire off more so than electronic controlled engines. I guess those other brands just don’t make em to last. First IDI I bought I...
Did you do a conversion or shackle reversal? And yea I knew I didn’t want a crazy shackle angle so I figured straight up and down would work well. Gives it plenty of room to move around
Now for the manual swap I already had a 4x4 zf5 so once i bought the solid flywheel and clutch kit for the engine in the 1997 it was a direct bolt on. You have to use the frame support brackets for the manual transmission and get the pan in the cab with a cut out so your shifter tower can work...
