    Dreaded Code 62

Still getting 62 after changing trans connector, FIPL, and solenoid pack, but now it's not slamming into gear when in limp mode and seems to be shifting through all gears. Why would it do this?

    Dreaded Code 62

Interesting, I thought it only locked up in overdrive. I learn something new everyday. I have a new solenoid pack installed but the plug was wrong so I had to order a new one. The magnet had very little fuzz on it, but i did change the fluid and filter less than 15,000 miles ago when I had to...

    Dreaded Code 62

    That's probably a good idea.

    Dreaded Code 62

I checked it again, it's 1.2 at idle and 3.9 at WOT, 3.9 is a bit low so maybe I'll try to bump it up. I looked smooth throughout the range, but I might change it just to be sure. I did change it when I first got the truck but it's not a Motorcraft part and I haven't had the best luck with...

    Dreaded Code 62

Thanks for the diagrams. I switched the relays between 1 and 3, still the same I'm afraid, and no burnt or discolored pins. My solenoid pack has the same number of wires as your diagram but no missing pins, it's also thinner walled. It's been fine for the 4 years I've had it, until recently, so...

    Dreaded Code 62

Just to be sure I have the correct relay. It's in the engine compartment relay #1?

    Dreaded Code 62

I have not, I'll definitely check it out.

    Dreaded Code 62

Even with OD off the OD light will start flashing if I'm going over 30mph while going up a steep hill and give a 62. On flat ground it's perfectly fine. Seems strange that it happens while OD is off while going uphill only. Could the solenoid not be opening or closing completely?

    Dreaded Code 62

Hi All, I'm having a curious problem with the trans. I got a code 62 a while back and changed the converter to a new triple disc but the code came back immediately. The conditions that make the code pop up are going uphill with overdrive off, or on. If the OD is off while going uphill it still...

    Thermostat housing seal

I had this problem too. Check the recessed area in the block where the t-stat sits and make sure there isn't any rust or debris in it. It's a snug but not tight fit. It had a bit of corrosion where the outside of the t-stat sits and I didn't clean it out good enough. It must've not let the...

    Tire shop: rant/question...

After having new tires put on a 1 ton dump a few years back and having the nuts not tightened down on one tire, after waiting 4 hours for the shop to change them, I got a cheap manual tire changer from HF. It works pretty well for what I need it for. It's no fun to look in your mirror and see...

    Strange Electrical Problem?

Hey All, I'm at my wit's end, again. I've been working on my 94 IDIT getting ready for Summer since I have some downtime waiting for the mud to dry up. So, I put in a new radiator core support, radiator, trans cooler, and condenser for the A/C. Now my oil pressure gauge reads zero at idle but...

Fuel Heater delete and truck surging

Does the pump happen to be a Spectre pump? I had one go bad after 200 miles and did the same thing as yours.

    Bad PSOM Confirmation

I found the problem. I forgot to tighten a ground when I put new floorboards and rockers in the truck. It was under the kick panel on the passenger side. It was attached but not tightened down causing an intermittent ground problem. I disconnected it and the odometer went blank. I tightened it...

    Bad PSOM Confirmation

It either pegs out or reads 0, but both times the odometer went away. Seems I always have to chase down bad grounds, they are my nemesis. I'll give it another look to see if I can find something.
