No it dosnt have it anymore. It was leaking air in and the fitting on the bottom was so seized I mangled the unit trying to get it out. So it was replaced by those cheapy plastic filters in series. It is on the list to get replaced but I havnt found a seperator that wasn't one of the big...
I didn't buy it from him. It's my vehicle that I was letting family in law drive. I actually don't trust him to work on anything, I just brought up army mechanic to point out its unlikely he put gas in this diesel truck.

Yea thats sounding like next weekend more and more....
Didn't do it this week as a diesel mechanic said it was dangerous to drive with a fuel knock, but he works on modern stuff where say an injector hanging open and melting a piston I think is more likely. And there not THAT much smoke coming...
Honestly that sounds pretty good. If they were better off I might do that. But the VA screwed up their paperwork and are withholding retirement payments so they arnt the best off atm.
It's my finances parents and we lived there for awhile and did alot of car borrowing as needed both ways. But...
The driver has been using it on and off for a few months and used to be an army mechanic. I doubt he put gas in and they would of told me if they did.
If I stomp on it I get black-gray smoke now at the top of 2nd when I floor it which I've never gotton. Always a little bit of white.
Really...
All I was told was stopped starting. Although that may be a glow plug issue.
I think it's a fuel knock but not certain.
Drove about 20 minutes and it stopped. Drove it back and it came back but quieter. Gonna park it, then fill the filter with standyne next weekend.
I don't blame them for the...
Loaned my truck out to family for the past few months. Went to pick it up and was told it wasn't starting. Well they were right. Just white smoke. Little touch of brake clean (yea I know I know it was diagnostic) and she lit up but a bunch of white smoke. Sat idling till warm. Heard an...
I've noticed after I got the filter unclogged the other week it smokes more then before. Mostly white when you get on it but more gray when under load.
First pull was second through third up a slight hill then 2 to the limiter.
Is this too much smoke?
It didn't have this much before even when...
Well I THINK I have it figured out. Pretty sure the little cheapo fuel filter I had where the water seperator was clogged up. I wasn't actually using it as a filter but mostly a barbed fitting to connect the hoses together.
I meant to change it when I did the pump. Went to syphon some fuel out...
Great minds think alike. Picked up my big jug from my parents and some hose. Not sure if I grabbed enough tho, because the jug is too big to stick up front or under hood so bed it will be. Guess I could use a milk jug tho

So I opened the top of the pump to look for junk. Didn't see anything. But I did notice that the fuel solenoid had a crack, and the ¿olive? on the return line is damaged.
New lift pump has definitely not solved the issue. Once hot and dieing I'm not getting anything out of the Schrader valve...
I suppose it could be. But I've been driving it around and the issue is pretty consistent with regards to about 20 minutes or so or when everything is nice and hot.
All the clutch hydraulics except the line was replaced about 5 months ago. New fluid. Definitely an issue but I'm pretty sure not...
Well I replaced the lift pump. Drove it and the pump works. However I'm not convinced it's fixed or not. About the time it would start to have issues the clutch stopped disengaging. So I'm not sure if it died due to that or the previous issue. But it took a minute of sitting and some cranking to...
