Just put together my idi with a typ4 093 kit, cam, 100cc pump with a new luk clutch, slightly used luk flywheel. No slip, engages great. I did the rear main while I was in there and very happy with it.

Sky manufacturing came out with a new kit to swap I think 05-16 springs in which I believe are about 8 inches longer

That black truck has more like 8-10 inches of lift and I would bet the blue truck is on 40+ inch tires.
Here is a 5 inch lift with 35’s

Was in college and couldn’t afford a power stroke, now I could buy a new truck but stick with old faithful. The guys at work constantly make fun of it but my truck spends more time running well and costs less to work on them several of our newer diesel trucks.

http://www.trailworthyfab.com/H1-Hummer-Wheels/ these guys do all different versions of the wheels. Personally I would stay away from 16.5 tires, too little options for tires

The H1 wheels have somewhere in the neighborhood of 6.5 inches of backspacing. They can be recentered to any specs though

I have the sky kit, I did not weld my kit, the design in my head did not make it necessary to do so. Many miles on it so far. It’s pretty straight forward but did not come with any instructions

Agreed the track bar length won’t give bump steer, but the longer track bar will give less of an arc through its suspension travel and bind less on the leaf springs though.

I run the same kit, no track bar or sway bar needed. Mine runs straight as an arrow with no death wobble or body roll. The beauty is you can always go back and add one if you have issues down the road. However typically Death wobble comes from loose suspension and steering joints or improper...
You typically want to run a track bar unless you run a shackle reversal, mine does not have a track bar or sway bar and rides straight and level. No death wobble at all. Personally I would get a longer track bar, and run it in front of the axle. Ideally you want the track bar to be as close to...
