Just a little trick that some people might need. The image above is the driver side mirror. Look at the pivot point where the mirror frame is bolted to the goose neck. That point is about an inch above the horizontal center line of the mirror so the lower part of the mirror is vertically...
DON'T DO THAT!
The best and easiest way to mount mirror brackets or other accessories to door panels or body panels and some thicker panels is to use Rivet Nuts (Rivnuts) OR Plus Nuts (+Nuts) You won't have to access the inside of the panels to install.
There are lots of Youtube videos...
GREAT IDEA BUT REMEMBER TWO THINGS:
1). That 'Z' bent resister bar GETS EXTREMELY HOT. If the inside edge of the coffee can gets too close to it, the resistor bar can melt right through it and plastic will drip down onto the resistor and the controller creating a stinky mess.
2). CUT...
His issue is with the tachometer, not the speedometer so he can disregard those speedometer related instructions,
...and to the original poster:
If the E4OD sensors are determining the RPM directly from the tachometer by sensing changes resistance (or voltage) through the magnetic coil in the...
YES that 'Z' bar resistor gets EXTREMELY HOT. Hot enough to ignight any combustible material that comes in contact with it, possibly starting an engine compartment fire. That's why it has a vented plastic cover over it.
IF the controller or controller relay itself ever fails where the relay is...
I'll buy it right now. It's about 7 PM, I can't leave here until about 7:30 but could be at your location in about an hour and a half depending upon you specific location or meet you somewhere in Tukwila or along MV highway, or do it tomorrow if that's more convenient.
I left a message for...
The pitting on your battery terminals is caused by arcing from a bad connection / bad cable end. BATTERY CABLE ENDS (the battery clamps) were not mentioned. If you have those clamp-on type that clamp on to bare wires at the ends of your battery cables, THOSE ARE JUNK. The wires being clamped...
LOTS of these trucks with various gas engines used the same power steering pump same pulley and sometimes the same aluminum mounting bracket as the IDI diesels so they are very easy to find at wrecking yards that have ford pickups

Dieselcrawler,
Your video on setting timing with the Tech-Time 3300-S received some excellent comments, including the suggestion to put a link to it in the Tech section.
However, before and after logging into Youtube, I get approximately the same message:
Does this video still exist and is...
One thing the actuator does is locks the shift lever in PARK. a safety feature as you've mentioned. \
I'm so tired, I can't read or comprehend much or write so I have to sign out and get some sleep.
If the transmission linkage / bushings are worn and loose the shift lever can slip down into...
Yes, 'Ignition Actuator' at Autozone (A Dorman part) and it's $11.99, pick up in store.
If you ever have to do it again, remember this. You don't have to cut or grind anything, on a tilt or straight column. The actuator very easily slips right into place. The trick to doing that (at least on...
Similar steering issues in my truck, since then completely fixed.
Truck was pulling to the right and steering wheel did not return to center, plus there was a loud clunk when turning all the way to the left (to the stop) when pulling out of my parking space and making a U-turn on a narrow...
FIRST OF ALL:
Do you KNOW for certain if you have a tilt steering column or a non-tilt (straight) steering column.
I ask that because a lot of people have a tilt column AND DON'T KNOW IT, thinking that it is a standard column. I was one of those. I could not find a lever to release and...
To re-confirm: as I recall (from a few years ago) the magnetic probe is to be inserted into the tube on the RIGHT as you are facing the front of the damper, not the one on the left, which is a sight hole for the 0 deg. timing mark on the damper (when using a timing light) and is closest to...
