You need an Alternator to SHIFT??
That's why I won't own a vehicle with a computer in it. My '91 Dodge Cummins will keep running even while you PULL the battery. (Of course, that's with a working alternator... :-)- Bytesmiths

How many First Gen. guys we have?
91 4x4. Searched five years for it. Didn't want computer-controlled injection. 300,000 kms and going strong. Changed front brake lines and rear U-joint. Power steering pump seems to need topping off quite often. Gonna drive it until one of us quits. :_)- Bytesmiths

Gen 1 Cummins Bosch VE rotary pump teardown.
Where did you get the rebuild kit? I have a Bosche VE from a Volkswagen that I'd like to learn on before ripping into a working one. I've used a lot of biodiesel, which tends to dissolve natural rubber parts over time. ALL my VEs leak around the accelerator shaft!- Bytesmiths
