This may not apply but I used to drive a 5.0 Bronco and had a Costco membership. I filled up at the Costco pump which was 20 cents a liter cheaper so nearly 80 cents a gallon difference and that tank was empty at 80% of my normal mileage. I did the math and it wasn't worth it. With my truck I...
Little more update on the truck. I've been having issues with the charging system. I tried the diesel alternator and all 3 of my alternators for the 351. None seem to charge and I've got new negative cables, grounds are new/have been checked. The exciter wire shows 12 volts with the ignition on...
First tank is almost gone and it looks like I've already gone 120 miles further than it used to go and still have maybe another 50 miles left. The tank was also not full when I started so I'd say the truck is now significantly better on fuel than it used to be
I don't know the geography where you're at but having a motor shipped somewhere or driving 10 hours might be totally worth it in your case. A weekend of driving or a few hundred in shipping might save you a lot of trouble.
If the shop you're talking to can't be bothered to explain how they came to the conclusion they did and are treating you like this during the part of the process where they should be trying hard to get your business, you should leave. Find a shop that will explain what they did and will work...
I just put a 7.3 into my bronco and it will not start unless I do 12 seconds plus. I checked em and all plugs are good. I don't have long term data but longer burns are working for me
I suppose I haven't taken very many pictures. The truck is on the road now and it drive's pretty decent. I still have a few things to button up like a couple leaking brake fittings and getting the driveshafts sorted out but the truck is pretty much 95% done at this point. My mystery transmission...
You could try blowing out your fuel lines with air to make sure they aren't restricted. Checking for fuel pressure might be good too. I have a gauge permanently mounted on my filter assembly for this reason
I've been making progress. The truck runs and drives. I had to delete my abs pump since it was hitting the motor during install; the new lines I made to replace the ones that went to the abs pump all leak so I'm going to take it to a shop and let them bend me new lines. Other than that I need to...
