I found one
Got lucky
Extremely lucky
Put her back together today, and went for a test run.
Outside ambient temp was ~80°
I took her up the mountain here, running empty, but very steep inclines.
Trans temp never exceeded 170°
I think she's right.....
Finally

Ok
Good news and bad
I received my sonnex bypass kit today, and pulled it apart
Low and behold, the bypass was full of trash, I cleaned it out and reassembled it.
Everything went real smooth.
Until.........
I have the horrible problem of getting sidetracked and over tightening bolts sometimes...
Ok
I might be getting annoying, but I got bored today
I went to the garage
Moved the trans temp sender to the correct port in the driver's side
Flushed the cooler again.
And took her for a ride.
It took a lot longer than normal for her to get above 100°
Then I hit the back roads
The house she...
Ok, I took it for another ride to get it warm. Trans temp gauge said 210°.
So I pulled her Infront of the garage and checked her with the laser.
I checked the lines at the cooler, the inlet was 124°, the outlet was 93°.
Then I checked the lines where they go in the trans, inlet was 143°, outlet...
Any one here familiar with John Wood?
I hear that he is a top name in transmission rebuilds.
I also hear that he deletes the bypass on all his rebuilds unless specified.
Why is this?

Old bull...
I guess I wasn't very clear on what I said, I didn't think there was a bolt on place of the banjo bolt
I was wondering if you could bypass the bypass cooler by placing a bolt in place of the banjo bolt
Or do you even think bypassing the bypass is a good idea?
And if you do, I guess I...
Ok
After doing a little more driving with no load today, I checked the trans temp with the laser again.
210°
That's a little hotter than I like.
I'm thinking of rebuilding the bypass or just deleting it all together.
I've been reading that the bypass is prone to failure, and will cause the...
Another thing.....
It seems like it gets hotter sitting at idle in park, versus driving.
I know that's not right
If anything it should cool off idling in park, instead of getting hotter
