My sending unit/pickup housing rusted out and is now leaking. I have been trying to find a replacement but cant seem to find it anywhere. I have a 1994 F250 7.3l with a plastic front tank with a plastic nut that fastens the unit down. Has anybody ever seen one like this?

They're pretty proud of their sending units, aren't they? $82 seems like a lot, but then again I'm not all that familiar with pricing. Is the Ohm range right for our trucks?

If you get the correct one for your year range then it will be setup correctly, I think they are priced fairly the nos ford units go for over 300 on eBay

That's not a bad price. I couldn't find one for under $300 for my 88 gasser 15 years ago.

That’s actually where I got my new sending unit from but it’s for a tank that the unit goes in on a slant where my tank the opening is level across. Also the electrical connector is a different size. In T Rex description for that unit it said it not for 23 gal tanks with a plastic nut. I didn’t think that applied to me because I figured I should have a 19 gal because my original bill of sale said it came with dual tanks for a total of 37.2 gallons and When I replaced the rear tank (leaking steel tank) with a plastic one that was 19 gal.

That's not a bad price at all. I just went through the sending unit nightmare on our 1993 F350 with a 7.3 IDI. They were in the $300 range. Our tanks also had the large plastic nut, and after the joy of pulling everything down, replace it too if you can get one at the same time. Seems time and weather make them brittle.

I think i'll be able to get the new sender to work in my tank. I re-bent and re-angled the down tubes to the same distance down from the top plate as my old one. The only difference now will be the offset and the connector which I'm going to have to cut off my old one and replace on the new one. KCMeyer, you mentioned the tanks get brittle. What happened to yours? Did they crack and did the fill neck on the new tank line up or did you have to modify it?
