i wanted to provide a visual representation. When I first started I was using Donaldson 5 micron absolute spin on filters and thinking I was ok. I then ran a filtered batch through a centrifuge and immediately bought one. Tonight I added a second fuge to my processing drum but I wanted to show how much just one pulls out of a 55 gallon batch. If you look at the pictures imagine if your filtration element was actually working how fast it would be plugged? Keep in mind what I wiped on the bucket is just my finger scrape. I still use four paper towels and degreaser to clean the bowl. The amount of sludge in the oil shows that any paper element filter if working efficiently would be plugged at least on the first 50 gallons processed. If considering wmo please invest the money to do it right and buy a fuge. All in I was around 250$ buying used off eBay for pump and centrifuge so it can be economical

My first post may be a bit Misleading but to clarify I ran a batch of oil that I had filtered to 5 micron through my centrifuge when I first bought one and I pulled the same amount of crud out of it that you see here

I’ll usually filter it until it’s back to a clear brown, here’s a pic filling up from my last run. I am simple just throw in the 17% gasoline and run it through the fuge. I splashed some on the full neck so you can see the clarity

I believe you’ve stated about 30 passes thru the ‘fuge. How often do ya clean out the fuge. I’m sure it’s more at first then longer intervals later.

I do one cleaning for every 50 gallons. I’ll run it for a day and a half, pop the bowl apart and wipe it clean then put it back to running. Then when I’m finished I’ll clean it before I start the next batch

Have you thought about the (more expensive) Ultimate Force centrifuge vs the (cheaper, but require a high pressure pump) PA Biodiesel Supply type?

I have, personally I would love to have one but at the time I was testing the water and went cheaper, so far these are working great but I would love to have one. I’ve watched many of their videos and it’s just a well designed product

So. Once it's filtered you just pour it in the tank, mix with diesel, pre heat it?

Since I centrifuge with the gas mixed in once it’s done filtering it goes straight into my truck. My truck is 100% stock fuel system

So... how bad does it actually smell while running? I've heard Bio can smell like French fries, but I imagine that concoction smells unpleasant.

Do you leave it running for a day and a half solid? It'd make me nervous to leave a system running like that while I sleep. I'm just curious if yours has proven to be fine running constantly like that.
