Just some pics of the 6.9 I've been trying to build for over 2 years now lol. Turbo up pipe held on by one stud with the turbo just sitting on top. Didn't wanna do it... Felt I, owed it to the engine. ( ever see Caddyshack anyone? ) I needed to see it for a little moral "boost". ( see what I did there? ) They CAN get worse [emoji6]. I'll see myself out.

Can't decide whether to paint the injection pump gear housing idi grey like the oil pan, or go DT360 blue like the long block. I really like IDI grey but didn't want to do the entire engine since so many are like that already even though I think they look great. The oil pan was my nod to old school grey and the dt360 blue is just my love affair with the DT line, not to mention I think the 6.9 looks **** in blue! Also I think the grey oil pan will pair well with the dark color vehicle it's going into as opposed to a loud light blue that would be visible from under the vehicle. Hoping like Hell to finish it this weekend. Really getting anxious now!

You could eat off that thing! If I was going to go through all that trouble, I'd be looking into the DT360 swap.

Admittedly, I didn't look through your post history. But is this a rebuilt engine ?

No. Approximately 160,000 on the bottom end. Engine came from a original owner farmer that passed away. When I pulled it apart the lifter/pushrod area under the valley pan was immaculate.
Heads were rebuild by a very reputable shop by a 40+ yr vet that started there in his 20's. He's also a NERA member. Valves and valve seats surfaced, Comp 910 springs, ARP studs, cam, 093 ATS with Wicked Wheel II and a asinine amount of sandblast media and paint.

Great paintwork . Will look like a jewel in the engine bay. Don't stress over the gear housing color too badly. Can't see two sides of the same coin at once.youll know it's there but a lot of those who see it will still wonder what the hell kind kind of motor they are looking at.

I see far too much blue at my work (our primary customer's primary paint color) but that is BEAUTIFUL!
