Will do. Thanks to everyone for all of the good advice. I'll tear into it when my other project slows down, but for today... mission accomplished. Pretty heavy load, but she did just fine.

Look like a fun one! I'll trade you. You can build my fences and I'll do your project. What are you doing to it?
they're "Coot(s)" or as my daughter calls them "cooties". found them in a storage yard and sold them to a friend who owns property that has a stream going through it. these things when working properly, float :D I was actually comparing trailers. I won't go near any fencing job without a post hole digger attached to the ass-end of a Jeep CJ..... :D

Lol, those cooties should be fun! I do have a post hole digger on my tractor (diesel Kubota) which should make life a little easier (as long as I don't screw it into this clay around here)! Trailer was a good Craigslist find and already chipping away (i.e. paying for itself) at delivery costs. Don't think my creeks are wide enough for your Coot, but there's a decent pond nearby! I'll provide the beverages, you bring the CJ!

Been trying to troubleshoot this thing all day and can't get it figured out. Went to start my truck and it was completely dead. Figured batteries, but they check out. Came back and reconnected everything and the lights work, but when I go to turn the key, it shorts out and loses all power. Disconnecting, waiting a bit, and reconnecting brings back the power, but it'll short back out when I turn the key. Any direction would be appreciated.

If it literally loses ALL power, meaning after a failed start attempt the lights, etc., also don't work, then it has to be poor contact between one or more of the main cables between the batteries and the vehicle. Otherwise proceed as already directed.

Yeah, I'll dig deep into the wiring at the start of the year. Just glad the Gremlins fixed it long enough to get my project materials.
