today I hauled a heavy load up the cajon pass and was having a minor issue. To describe it I was full throttle going 55 and I occasionally would feel my Truck lose power. It would be brief but when it did I could watch the boost drop, egt drop and hear the turbo spoil slow down. It would last maybe 1-2 seconds then would come back to full power. Based on this I assume it’s losing fuel for a brief second. Anyone seen this before it’s got a brand new lift pump. It could be my ip as it’s worn and a new one is already on its way to me I purchased last week I’m hoping maybe someone has experienced something similar

I had a similar thing when I bought my 87 6.9. It would be cruising normal at 50-55 and then seemed to actually get more power and then lose it. After replacing the injectors and getting a new injection pump all at once it seemed to have solved the problem.

Good to hear that’s exactly what it’s doing. It’ll drop off then get a burst of power and return to normal. I wish I could keep that extra power that comes on!

Tanks were full when it was happening. I already can’t run either tank past 1/4. I should check for air leaks like mentioned would that usuallly be before the filter to cause these issues?

Typically pre-pump will cause air while running.
A common one is the rubber hose between the frame and pump.

When I did the lift pump last week I replaced that line but maybe I messed something up as it wasn’t like this before the new lift pump

I would start there then. Maybe the hose clamps are pinching the hose weird, not sealing all the way.
