I thought I had seen somewhere that there is a mod that can be done to be able to select 4th gear on my automatic transmission on my 04 f350. I pull in the Rockies mountains and would really like to be able to do this to help with braking. Also looking at maybe an engine brake thought?
Any info or suggestions would be appreciated

A exhaust brake could be helpful.
There may be tunes available to use the vgt. Obviously wouldn't be as effective as a normal exhaust brake.
Also tuning will take care of the shifting.
Did you know your transmission is a 6 speed?
Here's a normal run 1-2-3-5-6.
If below 0°F 1-2-3-4-6.
