Here's the cool part, at least to me, is I can hook it into a key on source, but also put a concealed switch electrically between the keyed power source, and the pump. Mount the switch up under the dash, or somewhere handy, and out of view.
I can leave that switch closed for the most part, but say in a crappy part of town, or just not in the best areas, open that switch. I'd think it would be a fairly decent anti-theft device![]()
My electric gets power from the IP fuel shutoff; as long as your pump doesn't draw too much you will have no issues using that. I also installed at three way switch, keyed on, off, on (straight to battery). I shut this switch off when I am leaving the truck for extended periods of time, boat launches, etc. Nice security feature! I use the manual ON to prime, and to steal a little 'liquid boy scout'
from the filter drain.
