Just in my head, I can't think of anything that would be diesel-specific in the column. Auto and manual would be different of course.

correction, im missing the entire steering column!
bought one offa flea bay this morning, itll be here next week.

here is the prelim fitment with OBS heat/ac portal installed.
gonna need some vents and such... nothing major!
gonna take it back apart,paint it, and slap her in!!!
seems like most stuff will bolt right up, with the addition of a few zip screws.

In my yard a customer snapped gear lever in aerostar...pulled it...tore apart my auto obs column saved day!

Um, the auto shifter means there IS a difference. Yes, they're INTERCHANGEABLE, but they're NOT the same. If you're replacing a broken, damaged, worn-out, etc. column, you can easily swap the covers. But the OP is building from scratch, so he'll need the column that's appropriate to the tranny that's going in.

I have the 2 passenger side vents, that are still good. The heat and A/C controls, they have the cables and vacuum lines. I also have the wire harness for the dash.

Dumb question, but you know about the difference on the side "wind-wing" windows, right?

Note the slightly different design, with the front end blunted instead of being pointy like the '80-'91 trucks have.

If memory serves, Ford had to redesign the window with the corner cut off, because the older design interferes with the OBS dash and won't swing all the way open. If the owner doesn't use them, it's a moot point; otherwise you want to find wind-wings from an OBS truck...
