1996 f350 PSD XLT Dually - Maintenance

Hi all, I just recently picked up a 1996 F350 PSD Dually. Planning a long trip at the end of the month pulling a 4 horse horse trailer. Does anyone have a checklist of items to service prior to hitting the road? Already taken care of starter, brakes, shocks, belt, filters, oil etc. Will be doing radiator hoses and thermomstat this weekend. Is there anything else I should check or replace as a good standard practice? Thanks in advance.

I know on the 95 250 I am getting it was suggested to replace the FPR Screen and EBP Tube. I will be getting mine in a week or so, seller is doing some things to it. I would do the belt/s though, this will be done on mine as soon as I get it.

Just noticed you live not far from me, I assume you show horses? We do as well

The FPR screen can just be cleaned. Also on the bottom of the FPR assembly is a black tube looking thing. It unscrews, then there's another screen in there to clean.
I would pick up a spare CPS and tools to change it.
Cleaning out the filter housing would be good.

If you change the serpentine belt throw the old one in your truck. They will always break on a Sunday 40 miles from nowhere.

1. Buy a spare Ford ($25) or International ($40-50, rumored to be better) CPS. No parts store sensors.

2. Check IPR connector harness. Diesel leaks/drips, turns the insulation into mush, shorting out wires causing a no-start. If wires are suspect, replace them.

3. Check fuel pressure, if weak, replace pump now while parts are available. Took me an hour on my first one.
