Going to try again tomorrow. The photo loading thing on here is really finicky for me - I think it interacts with the 3g modem I have and gets screwy. Not motivated enough to mess with it tonight. Not even sure why I'm still awake as a matter of fact..... :dunno cookoo

This site has terrible photo management tools: drives me nuts.

I've had no trouble, so far, uploading and posting pictures. I'll give it a shot this morning, just to be sure the system still works for me.

That works so far. We'll find out when it actually posts.

I wonder whether the problem is individual equipment, individual software, isp, server, or what? The list of possibles seems endless.

ON EDIT: That worked very well, right according to plan and the way it was designed. I uploaded using the program tools, uploading the Happiness Fairy from my computer to the forum.

Uploading photos here is a mix of two things, size and size. The high range for pictures is 800x600 pixels, or 195 kb (or some such number) file size. Even phone cameras have much higher resolution, so it is almost always necessary to resize, crop or compress photos before posting. It is not difficult, but it is a hassle because it is not always easy to find the tools, depending on the system you use.

Most of the pictures I load here are just as they come out of my camera. I have it set up for good quality pictures, but not super-hi-res pictures. The last picture I uploaded, I believe, which came out of my camera, off my computer, is THIS ONE. It is in this thread.

Specs taken from the picture, as it appears in the forum: 754.26 Kb, 1512X2016 px. Every now and again, my pictures are reformated into a thumbnail, which must be clicked for the fullsize image. Most of the time, though, they simply appear as a large image.

Am I doing anything special? I don't think so. I'm just taking pictures from my camera, storing them on my hard drive, and uploading them to the forum server. Nothing special. Nothing complicated.

Pictures used to work fine for me up to around 700K or so. But pictures are finicky here. Very frustrating. I've take to posting picture links from Flickr. I preferred when it showed the thumbnails and then you could then click the thumbnails to see the actual picture full size.

I could open the pictures of the tool, but not sure what it is?

The tool in question. It looks like a homemade devise to seat a grommet, to put the two halves of a grommet together, to crimp them together. I say that knowing fell-well that it's most likely something else. However, that may point somebody else in the right direction.

It's a homemade freeze plug tool. Was going to put together a build thread on it but then we went off into broke picture land and.....

Hopefully it works!

Do you guys see the actual pictures or just a link? For some reason my system is just showing a link not the actual pictures.

The link shows up and it goes to the picture. I have been getting that lately on this site.
