I have been averaging between 16-18 mpg on the highway. And that is going around 60-65mph with the engine turning 2600-2800 rpm no load flat land.
How is that possible lol.
I barely can pull that off going 60-65 in my truck. But im more at like 2000 rpms.
On OP related note, nice truck; nice to see another low mileager left around like mine.
Does that topper have like a center compartment where the window section is or something? Looks pretty cool
Well it has been a consistent average mpg ever since I have gotten the rig. I get even better mpg when the hydrogen is kicked on but I haven't used it lately due to a leaking reservoir. So for the past month or so it has been right around 17 mpg going down the highway. In town mpg is obviously a little lower than hwy mpg. I do keep the truck well maintained and have a fairly fresh injection system. Tires have 60 psi in them and air filter box is unrestricted. IP has been turned up one flat as well by PO.
2000-2500 is good for best fuel economy. these trucks will run at 3800rpm all day long. when you have F450's with 5.13 D80's you're bouncing off the gov all day long.

And wishing for another gear!

It is basically a cowboy camper and a regular full bedside camper fiber glassed together. My rear window on my single cab is gone that way I can crawl back there and sleep if I wanted to. There is a window that separates the sleeping part from the rest of the bed but i can slide it open and crawl thru there if I needed to. I like it because I can throw my backpack and other stuff back there and still have room for passengers.
The sleepers use a rubber accordian boot style seal thing between the sleeper opening and the cab window.
doesnt that leave a way for moisture or stuff to get inside the truck.
I assume its just likea regular topper that has a small gap between the bed and the cab. Albeit a small one so its like a big animal is going to crawl in but you know what I mean.
On a side note though, I kind want that topper now lol.
