As ya'll kow I was away over Chirstmas, and had opportunity to do some fuel calculations

Weight on truck as tested
Front axle 1830 Kilo
Rear axle 1760 KIlo

F350 SRW
210,000 KM on truck
125,000 Miles +-

7.3 NA
ZF
4.10:1 gears
255/85/16's TP at about 45lbs....I use chalk to set TP:confused: only way to go....find best pressure....leave it there...nice even tread wear!;Sweet

First trip

This was a loop I drove and just ended up being able to do this first check on fuel and was good because most of it was with hubs locked in we where delivering some presents for friends and family.

Hubs locked in, moderate snow on roads 2" or less and snowing hard and blowing hard, and at times for safety I ran 4wd, I was following a semi and cargo van for a few 4-6 miles at a very slow pace, between 20-60 KMH up/down hills and once safe to pass on a proper passing lane I did.

So with that....trip was

276.7 Km or 172.94 miles
used
42.66 Litre of fuel
9.5 Imp Gal
11.0 US Gal

18.2 Imp MPG
15.8 US MPG

Second trip

This was our visit to Rose's Aunt/Uncle farm and mostly highway driving with moderate city driving through a couple of small cities.
460 Km or 282.5 Miles

65.05 Litre
14.45 Imp Gal
16.68 Us Gal

19.89 Imp Gal MPG
17.24 US Gal MPG

All in all respectable fuel usage I think, whatcha all think? I'm thinking I can pick up a point or two with a Fresh IP and injectors....both are original to truck from manufacture date I suspect...

Turbo will be nice addition too...

Thanks

Al

Edit...add tyre pressure data

That seems like pretty good mpg. my 83 F250 gets about 12.5-13 mpg from what i can tell so far.. and thats on a brand new moose pump and bb injectors.

WOW! That's fantastic, at least from my point of view! I can't get more than 400 miles on a tank to save my life - making it 10+ MPG. Makes me think something's wrong with mine...

I should note...that When I do these tests, I fuel till THERE IS NO MORE ROOM WHAT SO EVER for fuel...and when I can I use same pumps...regardless of pump though FUEL IS FULL....cannot get more in it's pouring out filler neck! I'm consistent with technique and don't change how I do the fuel ups, none of the first click...crap, I giver till it's just not physically capable of taking any more fuel!

That's the only way to fill up although it ****** people off when you sit there filling up like that at a busy station.

Those are good #'s for any rig the size of yours.

I can't even get close to your numbers. I get 13.3 in town and 14.7 on the hwy feather footing it and running 10-15mph under the speed limit.

I haven't checked recently, but I think I was managing between 15-16 mpg this summer with mixed driving. I'd love to see something a little closer to 20 US MPG

Those are really good numbers I think. Makes me sure I have room to move up with mine. My christmas trip was 629 miles round trip 17.9 mpg overall. That was F-250 supercab 4x4 zf with 3.55 gears and 285 75 16 tires. Original injectors. I was hoping for better. My dad did a 1400 mile trip in my truck in October and says he got 20 unloaded. No matter how light a foot I drive with I have never broken 20 with me driving.
BTW my trip was mixed interstate and two lane through the western NC mountains.
